Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a duvet and duvet cover?
A duvet is the insert (comforter) placed inside the duvet/comforter cover. It can be made of down or polyfill. We carry both styles. For more definitions, see our bedding glossary.
How do I know if the duvet will fit inside the duvet cover?
Always look at measurements rather than size name when matching dimensions. Suppliers vary in their definitions of bedding products. It is best to have no more than 1"-2" difference between duvet and duvet cover dimensions. This will reduce bunching and provide a much better fit.
How do I determine whether down or poly inserts (duvets) are best?
There are benefits and drawbacks to both. Down provides softness and warmth yet can bunch and be more expensive. Poly inserts provide a cleaner look with less bunching but are not as soft. To incorporate the best of both worlds, a poly insert can be placed inside the duvet cover and a down comforter used underneath for sleeping.
How is a duvet cover enclosed?
Duvet covers have zipper, button or snap enclosures. Each style listed will indicate how it is enclosed.
How do I view window treatments?
None of our suppliers offer window treatment images. They do come in basic styles found in most retail stores (rod pocket/tab top panels, balloon/straight valances, scarf valances). We suggest viewing styles beforehand then choosing the pattern that best coordinates with your bedding ensemble. Window treatment fabric is the same as the bedding, and free swatch samples are available in most patterns.
What is the difference between tab top and rod pocket side panels?
Rod pocket panels have a 3” header (pocket) at the top where the curtain rod slides through. The rod is completely hidden in the pocket. Tab top panels have tabs that wrap around the rod allowing full rod visibility.

If samples are available, click on Request a Swatch, then follow the simple steps! Swatches are mailed within 1 business day. |
